San Francisco | Summer Internship
soma-health.co
Soma is a neurotechnology company building the world’s first software brain computer interface. Our cognitive fitness tracker (think Strava for the brain) surfaces trends and insights on mental clarity, cognitive load, stress, and more. Our mission is simple & ambitious: to make brain health accessible, measurable, and actionable.
We’re a small but world-class team backed by investors in Oura, Canva, Coinbase, SpaceX and others when they were our size and stage. We're hiring a Growth Intern to join us for the summer. Soma is about to enter the world, and this role helps shape how. If you think in stories, know what makes content travel, and care about the person on the other side of the screen, we want to hear from you.
Ideal candidate
- Social media experience. You've managed or grown a social following before: personal, a brand, a club, anything. You know what it takes to build an audience from scratch
- Storytelling. You think about narrative naturally and understand why it matters before a product is even in people's hands
- Brand instinct. You have a feel for what makes consumer health brands resonate and strong opinions about what separates the ones that break through from the ones that don't
- People person. You know how to find the people who care most about a problem and you're energized by bringing them together
- Metrics curious. You like knowing if something worked and why. You're comfortable adjusting when it's not and doubling down when it is
- Scrappy by default. You move fast, figure things out, and don't wait for a full brief to get started
Day-to-day
- Work directly with the founding team to build Soma's voice and translate our mission into content that moves people
- Create and post content across platforms (Instagram, LinkedIn, X, TikTok, YouTube): writing, and filming
- Help plan and run in-person activations in SF and other major US cities
- Support outreach and relationship-building with potential partners in wellness, fitness, and health tech
- Help brainstorm and execute guerrilla marketing moments: flyers, pop-ups, ambient activations, things that make people stop and talk
